Tesla’s Preferred Financing Partner Sees a Paradigm Shift in the Automotive Market

The Netherlands has become the first EU country to approve Tesla’s Full Self-Driving (Supervised) system. The digital car leasing platform Gowago AG—Tesla’s Preferred Financing Partner and the leasing provider for the majority of Tesla drivers in Switzerland—expects this to have far-reaching implications for the Swiss market.

A Car That Gains Value

While conventional vehicles lose value from day one, Tesla flips this principle on its head: new technology is rolled out directly to the existing fleet via over-the-air updates.

Rising demand for new and used Teslas

As a Preferred Financing Partner of Tesla, Gowago observes market dynamics firsthand. European FSD approval will significantly drive demand for Tesla models—both in the new car market and for used vehicles. Resale values are expected to rise, which benefits existing owners and lessees alike.

A completely new dynamic is emerging, particularly in the used car market: A three-year-old Tesla can suddenly be worth more than it was on the day of delivery.

Swiss Regulation as the Next Step

The Federal Council has established new legal frameworks for automated driving effective March 1, 2025. An operating permit from ASTRA is mandatory. Gowago actively monitors regulatory developments and is available to authorities and the media as an industry expert.
